Zack Towner Joins as Eastern Sales Manager

In his new position, Towner is responsible for expanding Laszlo’s customer base in the eastern United States and increasing OpenLaszlo adoption through the development of strategic partnerships. Additionally, he is handling direct sales associated with OpenLaszlo support, training and consulting services, as well as for applications built on OpenLaszlo, including Laszlo's own licensed Laszlo Mail offering. Towner reports to Kevin McCoy, Laszlo Systems’ Vice President of North America Sales. McCoy commented, “Throughout his career, Zack has proven his ability to consistently achieve and exceed sales quotas and objectives. This drive, combined with his ability to cultivate key relationships, is exactly what we need to handle the rapid expansion of our burgeoning marketplace.” Prior to joining Laszlo, Towner held senior sales positions at Openwave Systems Inc. (formerly Software.com, Inc.) targeting the major broadband carrier market. During his nine-year tenure, Towner was named one of the top revenue generators for the company and was instrumental in cultivating organic growth among the company’s top accounts. He also received experience at Software.com selling e-mail software to small- to mid-sized Internet Service Providers (ISPs) worldwide and expanding channel business by recruiting resellers. Before that, he was a pre-sales technical consultant with Hewlett Packard. Towner holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
